One very great thing that happen with me is two interviews about my participation in NeverSeconds! That materials go to big websites in this Saturday.
One thing that occurred in the translations:is a mistake about kale, the vegetable was translate to cabbage. But we make an collage of them so you can see how I like to eat kale. In the photo, in the inferior-left photo is cabbage, and the others is kale.
Veg asked me about the project Mary's Meals that NeverSeconds supports and that will give children a school lunch and build school kitchens. I think it's really cool to do this, as I said in the interview today, children as we can change the world, and I like go there someday and help. I think that is a very interesting think!
Giorgio is already sleeping but I believe he says hello. My brother was really excited about the comments on his post yesterday.
Today is only this, this all folks, See Ya!
Enzo Buzz, you are a kale king.
ReplyDeleteGreat week, thank you both for sharing and hopefully you may get a few more interviews.
Giorgio - hello, hope you had a great sleep, don't forget to keep giving Enzo Buzz your kale.
And keeping in the spirit of the week:
Today is only this, this all folks, See Ya!

DeleteThis made me smile :)
there seems to be widespread confusion about the family of vegetables that includes cabbage and kale. Thanks for the photos to help us understand. Kale is much darker than cabbage so far as I know. I really appreciate you and your brother making an effort to use your second language; English; to talk to us!
ReplyDeleteThe easiest way to find out what kind of vegetable it is would be to look for the latin name of it ^^
DeleteFrom the looks it seems to be Collard Greens which belongs to the same classification as Kale - Brassica oleracea.
On the plate it looks very similiar to the way curly kale is served here in northern germany. We call Braunkohl or Gruenkohl (depending on region) and it's a typical winter meal, 'cause the curly kale gets a bit sweeter when it's harvested after the temperatures outside dropped below the freezing point.

Yes, it looks like they were serving what's called "couve" in Brazil. The closest thing I've been able to find to it in the US is collard greens. My Brazilian brother-in-law seems to agree.
DeleteThat looks really good! A couple of questions: What are manioc crumbles? And what's the vanilla and Brazilian nuts cream, a sort of pudding? It sounds delicious in any case.
ReplyDeleteManioc crumbles is how he translates Farofa, a typical Brazilian side dish. It's made from Manioc flour fried in butter and onions. Then you can add different ingredients for different versions: bacon cubes, scrambled eggs.. It looks like sand, it's quite dry. But you normally eat it with something more "wet", like beans or a fish stew (moqueca). We also dip beef or sausages in it when we have a barbecue.
DeleteGreat, thank you, that sounds really intriguing!
DeleteI love reading your posts! You are doing a great job with English. Your meals look delicious, but I'm afraid I would get bored eating basically the same thing everyday. I've only had Kale roasted in the oven. I may have to try it steamed or boiled after seeing your posts. It looks good.
ReplyDeleteInteresting about the cabbage. I ran the Portuguese entry through a different translator and it said spring greens. Either way, I think you have the healthiest meals of any that have been posted if the amount of green vegetables is a factor.
