ReplyDeleteWe are certain it will be worth the wait. Anything IT seems to test the patience and calmness of any human. I spent 3 hours writing a news story a few years ago only to have the computer crash as I sent it to the paper. The story disapppeared and I literally wanted to "kill" the machine in a violent death. Felt like one of those cartoon characters with steam coming out my ears and my head exploding. Took 7 hours to do the rewrite and it was not as good as the 1st effort. Learned patience quickly in the early years. It still comes in handy.

I had rather wondered how you were going to deal with the time zone issue. :) I have a friend in the English midlands and we're very used to writing our notes when we know the other will already be sleeping, and not expecting a reply until the next day. Will look forward to seeing what the "Red Raiders" (Texas Tech) had for lunch today, tomorrow. ;)
ReplyDeleteIn the meantime, that was an excellent interview! It was obvious that Ms Dillon had "done her homework" prior to interviewing her subjects. (Something that I think an alarming number of people who call themselves "professional journalists" fail to do.)
And while Veg may not think much of all this fuss and bother over her blog, many of us are continually amazed at just how articulate a 9-year old really can be. It was also a delight to "meet" more of the Payne family.

Yes yes yes! We're on tap for a week in August and the entire camp is so excited! What a wonderful way to increase the girls' awareness of hunger, nutrition, and the world beyond their own small communities. Can't wait to see how the girls interpret their meals...anticipating that it will be quite a lot of fun.

ReplyDeleteDid I miss it or was there no mention of the money raised for Mary's Meal? I know the focus of the programme was all about food in schools but I would have thought that £111,000 deserved a passing mention at least.
