The girls I mentor are ages 11 and 12 and they are in 6th grade. I have lunch with them once a week and all this school year they all get a milk or juice at lunch and almost never drink it! Our school has a wide variety of milks: chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, plain milk (all low fat) and juices: apple, orange, fruit punch. I've asked them about it and they said they would rather drink water from the water fountain later; that they don't like milk or juice. The cafeteria makes you get a drink regardless of whether you want it or not and it ends up being thrown away. It seems like such a waste. I see the trouble Ian's parents went to in order to have it removed from the school- is there an age where kids start to give it up on their own?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13555813567179172978noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9042538732461826230.post-35945170859311988462012-11-16T06:16:49.688+00:002012-11-16T06:16:49.688+00:00Gee! I like my lettuce with dressing and there is nothing wrong with olive oil, mustard and vinegar (french style) or simply olive oil and lemon juice (italian style).
